The "2013 U-KISS Showcase & Fan Party in Jakarta" was which was supposed to be held on February 01-02 2013 had to be rescheduled to April 26-27 2013 due to bad weather, the safety of fans and bad-timing consideration.
"Showcase had to be rescheduled. But there is no change in terms of concept and benefit tickets. We thank you for your support and understanding. In addition, each Rp 10.000, - from tickets sold will be donated to the flood victims, through WVI," said Kim Young Hoon from Oppa Oppa Live. Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) is a humanitarian organization that focuses on children and have experience responding to natural disasters.
Upon knowing about the flood disaster that struck Jakarta a week ago, 2 members of U-KISS, Kevin and SooHyun represented the group and flew to Jakarta for a charity session. "We have seen the news, Youtube, Twitter, and we'd like to help the flood victims. We want the world to know about Indonesia’s condition, that's why we came here. We are sorry because not all members can come this time, "said Soohyun.
Although only Soohyun and Kevin were able to attend, but all members of U-KISS left a video message to Indonesian fans which uploaded on their official youtube account. They expressed their concern and hope their Indonesian fans are alright and hope their fans will be able to stay strong despite the unfortunate disaster. They too are looking forward to meet their fans again in this coming April.
“Our upcoming showcase in April, there will be a surprise because U-KISS will come-back on March so there will be also new songs that we will sing at the upcoming showcase,” Kevin added.
"Charity Session with UKISS and Bank Mutiara", U-KISS donated 20 copies of their autograph seventh mini-album 'Stop Girl' and 2 signed favorite clothes from Soohyun & Kevin. In a short time, Soohyun and Kevin managed to auction off 2 albums with total sales of IDR 3.500.000. The entire auction results will be distributed to the flood victims through WVI.
Accompanied by WVI, Soohyun and Kevin distribute stationery and toys to children in refugees' camp in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, named Children Friendly Space (CFS). CFS was already established a long time ago, wasn't made because UKISS was coming. The children in there wasn't even know UKISS would come. They were only told that there would be something special for that day. They ended the activity in there by having a group photo together will all children in the camp.
Representative of the children at the camp, gave UKISS a thank you note and a hand-drawing of Kevin and SooHyun. Both Kevin and SooHyun also taught them, Indonesian children's song called 'My Hat is Round'.
Soohyun and Kevin also revealed their thoughts after visiting the victims, "We are excited to be able to interact directly with them. But unfortunately it’s only for a while, short time. This charity visit means a lot to us, and also reminds us to be more grateful. Even in difficult situation, the kids are still smiling." U-KISS hopes their visit could give encouragement to children and inspire others to share with others.
Kevin thanks fans who came to the charity session and glad to have a chance to visit Indonesia. "Thank you for coming and support us. We are happy to see you. We want to share and slightly ease your burden, so be strong and fighting!” Kevin stated.
"We appreciate the care and concern from U-KISS, who come all the way from Korea and are willing to sacrifice his concert schedule shift. Not many celebrities have similar sensitivity, even going down directly to evacuation shelters. Hopefully UKISS concern could be the inspiration for others to share,"said Priscilla Christin, Donor Acquisition Manager, Wahana Visi Indonesia.
Oppa Oppa Live also thanked for all support and understanding from everyone for this rescheduling and charity event.
